Welcome to the English Viola Society's Home Page
The English Viola Society was formed in September 2007 by John White (Honorary President) and Louise Lansdown (President) and exists for the benefit of violists. The society aims to support, promote and encourage every aspect of playing, composing and research relevant to the viola in England. The rich and vast heritage of wonderful English violists and compositions gives the society a secure and multi-faceted foundation. The English Viola Society is a branch of the International Viola Society (IVS), which holds international congresses each year.
